The Scottish Government has introduced a licence scheme for all operators of short term lets (STL). This includes B&B's, Guest Houses, Air BnBs, Pods, Sheperds Huts etc. As of 1st October
2023 all operators must have applied for a licence to continue trading legally.
Lighthouse Cottage has applied for it's licence to the Highland Council.
When it is granted it will appear on this page.
The expected wait for processing will be a number of months.

Consequenses of this law for visitors to Skye
1. Less available accommodation - many operators have decided NOT to continue trading.
2. The price for available accommodation will rise - book as early as possible and avoid last minute booking.
